XLR8R Review
One of Seattle's most respected and prominant ambassidors of the glitch and microsound realms of the laptop revolution, Bobby Karate (aka Steven Ford) created music that takes the listener on a delicate and boyant trip through an ocean of clicks and pops, rising mechanical noises and buzzes- an organic experience in some fragmented unreality.

Steven has said on numerous occasions that he's permanently retired his Bobby Karate personna, however we continue to recieve much praise for his Hot Trips, Cold Returns album, 4+ years after its release. We feel strongly about it ourselves- it's a microsound masterpiece that holds its own against some of the best releases from labels like 12k, Raster-Noton, Mille Plateaux, and Mego.

"Combining Mego’s crackling aggression with Mille Plateaux’s elegantly designed clicks & cuts, he’s birthed one of the year’s most dynamic and distinctively constructed discs. Though largely unknown, Karate is swiftly rising to the upper echelon of laptop producers."

-Dave Segal XLR8R

Recently Steven has been recieving international acclaim for his progressive techno work under the name Bruno Pronsato, releasing a slew of highly regarded tracks for a number of the world's most renown electronic labels. See his full discography here:Discogs
